Rules
FOREWORD
In the past few seasons, J2iCS has seen immense growth in many ways. We have more drivers than ever before. Therefore, this rules document is meant to serve as a living document for all J2iCS series. It is subject to change when new rules or edits are needed depending on the circumstances of any given season.
J2iCS is a community open to drivers of all skill levels, from beginners to aliens, and everything in between. The point of these rules is to make this league as chill, relaxing, and as fair as possible while still being a competitive online motorsport group. Please direct any comments, questions, or concerns to the Admins.

League Rules
J2iCS is a community open to drivers of all skill levels, from beginners to aliens, and everything in between. The point of the rules is to make this league as chill, relaxing, and as fair as possible while still being a competitive online motorsport series. Please direct any comments, questions, or concerns to the admin team.
J2iCS is comprised of an Endurance and Sprint series.
J2iCS has a strict no politics rule. This includes all text and voice channels on the Discord server and iRacing sessions, as well as vehicle liveries.
Each series, when active, has a dedicated race night:
4.a: Endurance Series: Wednesday nights* @ 10PM EST. Crown Jewel races @ 9PM EST.
4.b: Sprint Series: Wednesday nights* @ 10PM EST
*Endurance and Sprint alternate weekly
Drivers using offensive language directed towards another member of the community in Discord or iRacing sessions may be subject to point deductions, temporary suspensions, and/or banishment from the league. Habitual offenders will be subject to harsher penalties. Final penalty assessments are at the discretion of the admin team.
5.a: If an individual feels that this rule is being violated, they are highly encouraged to report the offending actions to the admin team.
5.b: This applies to all League sessions, as well as Discord channels on the J2iCS server.
Drivers are required to have iRacing voice chat enabled and functioning at all times during J2iCS Race sessions.
Actions resulting in in-game penalties enacted by the sim when a driver is not in control of the vehicle will be decided on a case-by-case basis. This is intended for issues related to hardware disconnections or failures, and actions after taking the checkered flag. This does NOT include spinning out and wrecking into another driver.
Custom liveries must be reviewed by the Admin Team before they are cleared for use in the league. Custom liveries must include the J2iCS number boards for any Road Series. Liveries must be submitted to the "#Livery-Submissions" channel in Discord so they may be reviewed.
Any discussions containing spoilers of events (races, other sporting events, popular movies, shows, games, etc.) must be either spoiler-tagged or kept inside the appropriate spoiler discussion text channels.
9.a: A 24-hour spoiler rule is in effect for all races and sporting events.
9.b: For movies, shows, and games, please use your best judgment.
No points races in either series will take place during iRacing's week 13. Races for fun & no points can still take place. Holidays and exhibition events will be handled as the schedule approaches.
Drivers are expected to follow iRacing's sporting code during all Official J2iCS events.
Road Series Rules
J2iRS includes the Endurance Series and Sprint Series. Each series alternates race sessions on Wednesday nights at 10PM Eastern.
1.a: The Endurance Series is a single-class, open-setup championship that consists of 6 90-minute Grand Prix races and 2 120-min Crown Jewel races. The current class is GTE, and is selected by community vote each off-season.
1.b: The Sprint Series is a single-class, fixed-setup 8-round Championship with race times averaging 60-min split between two races (Sprint & Feature). The current class is LMP3. New car(s) are selected by community vote, and may not include the same car(s) as the previous season. Endurance Series classes are disqualified from the vote.
Each series includes a Driver and Team Championship. Teams consist of:
2.a: Two drivers per team. No substitutes.
2.b: All Drivers on a Team must drive the same car, and have similarly patterned liveries.
2.c: Team names are not allowed to be personally offensive or include political discourse. Rated-R names are okay.
2.d: Teams are strongly encouraged to work together to develop setups and strategies.
2.e: It is not a requirement to run a team; drivers may race alone. However if a team is created later in the season, points applied to the team must be earned after the team formation. Previous points from solo drivers are not applied to a future team.
2.f: Drivers are not allowed to change teams after the start of the season. Wholly new teams may be formed mid-season, but points earned prior to the formation of the team will not be counted.
2.g: Teams do not have to match between Endurance Series and Sprint Series.
If you are involved in an incident on track that you think should be reported during a race, please report it to the Admin team.
3.a: The Admins only review incidents that are reported to them.
3.b: You have to be involved in the incident to report it.
3.c: Please only provide the Race # and Lap # (and Turn # if you know it) with your report. No details about the incident are needed.
3.d: The community plays a large part in raising the level of race craft.
3.e: Reported incidents involving any member of the Admin team, or their teammates, will not have their opinion included during the incident review or penalty assessment.
3.f: Most replays are saved by the Admin team, but you are encouraged to save your own copy as well if you wish to submit a report. This ensures that all cars involved will be viewable on the replay, as well as any local netcode issues documented.
iRacing’s incident point system will be in use during all practice and race sessions. Drive-thru penalties will be automatically assigned to drivers that exceed the limit for each Series.
4.a: Endurance - Grand Prix: 16x / 8x
4.b: Endurance - Crown Jewel: 20x / 8x
4.c: Sprint: 15x / 8x
Drivers will be allowed (1) car change throughout the season for the Endurance Series. Car changes must be announced in the League Discussion channel in Discord prior to the start of qualifying before use.
5.a: Drivers will not be allowed a car change during the Sprint Series.
5.b: Drivers may drive any car or class during practice sessions. Once you have registered to a lobby with a car, iRacing will not allow you to change cars in the same session.
5.c: Drivers who have already used a car swap will be removed from a session if they are found to be using the wrong car. If it is discovered that a driver used the wrong car after a race has occurred, they will be disqualified.
Drivers are expected to honor blue flags. Drivers receiving a blue flag are expected to not defend or block the passing driver.
The weather for each race is determined by the actual forecast on the date of the event. Each practice and race lobby will use 25% for both starting and on-going weather variation within iRacing.
Damage will be in use during all practice and race sessions. During race sessions, drivers are provided (2) fast repairs.
If a driver disconnects from a race session prior to completing 90% of the race laps, they will receive 0 points.
One bonus point is assigned for pole position and fastest lap. Crown Jewel races assign double this amount.
Each driver receives two drop weeks for each road series. The team championship is not affected by drop weeks.
Penalties may include but are not limited to warnings, time penalties, point deductions, disqualifications, qualifying penalties, etc. Any incurred penalties will be announced in the Stewards Reviews text-channel. Drivers are responsible for checking this channel prior to each Race session.
12.a: If a driver is found to be at fault for an incident on lap one of any race session, that driver will receive a qualifying ban to the next race they attend in the same series. This means that drivers are not permitted to set a lap time, but may start on the grid.
The series champ for each class and series will receive one veto-proof track selection in the following season.
The team champion for each series will receive a pat on the back.
J2iCS uses open qualifying for each series. Drivers who do not set a qualifying lap must start from the pit-lane. This does not effect drivers with qualifying bans who are not permitted to set a time.
During race starts, the leader may not accelerate / deaccelerate quickly or play other games when approaching the start / finish straight.
In order to participate in any J2iCS series race, you must complete the equivalent of one race sessions worth of laps under the incident limit used in that series. These laps must be performed in a J2iRS hosted lobby. Drivers may split up their laps between multiple J2iCS sessions.
19.a: For Sprint Series, an equivalent number of laps includes both races hosted on a race night.
